Savory Cookies - T & T from Dil Se..

>> Sunday, July 4, 2010

I always want to try making cookies myself. Being a poor baker, I keep hesitating to start off with baking cookies. But today I pushed myself to make my first cookies myself in my oven, which turned out to be great!!!
Divya's Savoury Cookies recipe gave me that kick to start baking. I bookmarked this recipe sometime back when I was browsing. Her blog  had many cookies recipes, but this savoury cookie, caught my eyes, as I usually prefer salty cookies to sweet ones. The thing which really attracted me was, the list of ingredients was very few and it was all available with me.. :)

There was no snack left out with me, so decided to try my hand on this recipe today. Immediately after making my baby to sleep, I rushed to my kitchen and grabbed all the ingredients.. Put them all in the same proportions, the same order as that of Divya's recipe and started making my cookies.

When the cookies shaped themselves into the oven, I was praying that they should turn out good. Within 15 minutes, my kitchen was filled with the smell of melting cheese and butter. It was the first sign that gave my some confidence that they are going to be good. So it was, my first time baked cookies, turned out to be a success. They too passed the taste, texture, color test by my greatest critic, 'my hubby'.. ;)

I was really happy and we enjoyed our cookies with our evening tea. It just took 30 minutes to bakes these goodies. They tasted like butter biscuits we used get from the bakery in India, but with the touch of spiciness from pepper and the mild cheesy flavor. Finally we loved it. A simple easy recipe for amateur baker's like me.

I just followed the same recipe, except that I have used just mozzarella cheese, while Divya used a combo of mozzarella and cheddar. So I am not re-posting the recipe here. The recipe can be checked by clicking Divya's blog link mentioned above. This will be my entry to Tried and Tasted event hosted by Champa initiated by Zlamushkas
Easing cooking and from now on easy baking too!!
