Chocolate Oats Walnut Laddu

>> Monday, October 4, 2010

Here comes another simple laddu recipe I tried for Celebrate sweets- Laddu event started by Nivedita and guest hosted by Nithu. This is a simple and chocolaty laddu made with oats and filled with nutty flavors of walnuts. Chocolate in any form is always good. Same goes with this laddu too.. It was really yummy and rich with chocolate that we could hardly taste the oats in it.

Things needed
Oats - 1/2 Cup
Milk - 1/8 Cup
Sugar - 1/4 Cup
Cardamon powder - 1/4 Tsp
Cocoa powder - 1 Tbsp
Walnuts - 1/8 Cup ( Chopped)

Dry roast oats, until they turn slightly golden brown in color. Now place milk, cocoa powder, sugar in a pan and let it boil. Add cardamon powder, walnuts to the chocolate milk and let the mixture start thickening. Now add the roasted oats and cook the mixture until it comes together as a ball.

Turn off the heat and let it cool for some time. Now make laddus of desired size when the mixture is still warm. Else the chocolate will harden and we won't be able to mould the mixture. Let the laddu dry for about 30 minutes and then store them in a airtight container.
Yummy, simple and chocolaty laddus are ready to be enjoyed. These will stay good for about 3 days when refrigerated. This also goes to Shabitha's Virtual party- Chocolaty dreams
