Thinking what to make for evening snack... Here comes the simple and yummy cabbage kofta that can be made in few minutes and enjoyed with tea or coffee.. I used a combo of cabbage, potatoes for this kofta. We can also trying making this with other veggies like carrots, peas, spinach, zucchini. Left over koftas can also be made into kofta curry or kofta Manchurian.
Things needed
Cabbage - 3 Cup ( Finely chopped)
Potato - 1 Large no. ( Peeled)
Red chilly powder - 1 Tsp
Tumeric powder - a pinch
Hing/Perungayam - a pinch
Garam masala powder - 1/2 Tsp
Salt - To taste
Corinader leaves - 1/4 ( Finely chopped)
Curry leaf - 10 no. ( Roughly chopped)
Ginger garlic paste - 1 Tsp
Onion - 1 Large no. ( Finely chopped)
Oil - For deep frying
Pressure cook potato and cabbage for 3 whistles or 10 minutes. Drain off the excess water from cooked cabbage. Now mash the boiled potato into cabbage. Add rest of the ingredients except for oil and make it into a soft dough. If the dough seems to be sticky try adding few teaspoons of corn starch or rice flour.
Divide the dough into small lime sized balls and deep until golden brown in color. Enjoy hot with chutney or ketchup. These yummy koftas goes to Radhika's Deep fried snacks event and to Charitha's A for Appetizers event
